Strengths:
+ Acting. Mischa is a good actor. When she takes on a role, she studies it thoroughly before doing anything else, devouring the nature and subtleties of the character she's to be portraying. She's quite convincing on the stage, and she finds it a lot easier to be someone else. Unfortunately, this sometimes leaks over into her personal life. You can't always say you know Mischa because the Mischa you know might be worlds different from the Mischa someone else knows.
+ Lying. A forte of hers would be lying and stretching the truth to get her way. It's difficult to determine the majority of the time if she's telling you the truth because most the time she seemingly believes what she's telling you herself.
+ Volleyball. It isn't her greatest skill, but Mischa is decent at volleyball. She's right there on the net to set or spike that ball as needed, digging it out of the net, or even dropping to save it from the ground. She gives it her all, but she's definitely not the highest scorer on the team. Her serving is of very inconsistent quality, and a good serve is pretty much a necessity on a team. It could mean the difference between winning and losing if the next server on the opposing team is skilled at determining weak spots to serve to, and you don't want to lose your serve then.
+ Flute. Mischa has been playing flute since she was nine. She's been quite dedicated to it and practices hours on end, not wanting to lose her position as first chair flutist in the band. Failure is not a word in her vocabulary, so she's quite competitive on the music front.
+ Singing. Mischa is a mezzo-soprano and her voice soft and light yet powerful. She knows how to convey the meaning of the words she's singing, whether they be in Russian, Italian, German, English, or French. It doesn't matter. She applies herself very well.
Weaknesses:
- Carrying conversation. While Mischa may be quite the chatterbox when she's in a good mood and with only one person, she sucks at carrying conversation when a group surrounds her. She'll interject her own thoughts here or there, but people usually either don't get them or choose to ignore her.
- Standing up for herself. Mischa hates confrontations and avoids them at all costs unless she's pretending to be someone she's not. Usually she will stand there and take it but she sulks for hours afterwards. Taking constructive criticism is not her forte at all.
- Recovery. If caught in a lie, Mischa often gets tangled in her own web. After all, it's rare that she gets caught in lies, so she's caught off guard, making up lame excuses just to try to save her ass. Doesn't end up working in her favor nine times out of ten.
- Relating. It's difficult with the many personalities she takes on and with how reclusive she can be for Mischa to fully relate with anyone. She may be friendly as can be with you, but is it genuine or is it all just an act? Does she really understand or does she just know how to fake understanding? It's quite possible you don't even know her. The Mischa you think you know might be quite different than the Mischa someone else knows.
- Temper. While it rarely shows itself, Mischa does have a temper. She usually tries to remain detached enough from a conversation that what someone says can't offend her, but that doesn't work one hundred percent of the time. While she rarely sticks around to yell at the person who's upset her, she does run off and sulk and carry a grudge for days before ever thinking or dreaming of relenting. It's never her fault in her mind, so you're just going to have to suck it up and apologize or just forget her and move on.
Habit(s): She oftentimes has a ponytail holder or rubber band around her wrist, which she snaps against her skin if she's getting overwhelmed, stressed, or down, something that seems to keep her from an old habit she has no desire to go back to.
Pet Peeve(s): Mischa absolutely loathes being completely ignored. Even if she is socially awkward, it makes her angry if she's talking with someone and someone else comes up and steals the spotlight and then everyone starts ignoring her. She hates feeling like the third will and she will sulk and hold a grudge for days. Some people just say, "Forget you," when she's pulled that one too many times.
Fears: Just two fears? Wow. Hmm...well, Mischa's a pretty paranoid person. She fears the little voices in her head or who she is in the morning. She's afraid of losing her mind or herself. She's afraid of losing everyone around her and alienating herself completely. She's afraid of being alone in the end.
Personality:
Mischa is classic proof that what you see isn't always what you get. She dresses very nicely and sometimes quite flirty, yet you'll find that she's quite shy. Then again, you could find that she dresses rather trashy and is rather bold. Her personality varies from day to day and with whom she's with, so there's no true way to pinpoint and summarize in words exactly how Mischa is. The only words that could describe her, perhaps, are psychotic, unpredictable, and unstable. She's awkward in social situations unless she's assigned herself a role to play for the day or knows you quite well. She's a compulsive liar. She's a dedicated musician and singer. She's a mediocre volleyball player, but it's difficult to pinpoint those characteristics that are exactly central to her persona that she gives off.
When alone or at home, Mischa is quite reserved, having learned that her parents won't take crap from her, and she finds their relationship strained ever since she started seeing a psychiatrist in seventh grade and then was hospitalized towards the end of eighth. She's friendly to her sister, but even that varies depending on the mood she's in. She prefers to spend her time alone in her room when at home for breaks and is often seen with a book or her computer. However, on breaks, her flute and singing preoccupies most of her time. She and a few neighborhood acquaintances sometimes get together to play duets, trios, or even quartets on their instruments, which she enjoys immensely and is probably when she's most at ease and truly herself.
History:
Life is full of twists and turns. What starts out nice and innocent can often turn into a nightmare. Born to Matthieu and Milena Leblanc in Marseilles, France, life was pretty good. The couple was an odd match with the culture clash, Matthieu being French by birth and Milena only having recently adapted to French culture from her strict, Russian upbringing through an exchange student program, but they were in love, and the daughter that soon came was a blessing. They loved her and spoiled her. They had planned for more originally, but when no other came after a few years, they had pretty much given up until finally, twelve years later, little Irina was born.
When Mischa was seven, they moved to New York, and New York was where they remained the rest of her upbringing. Her father's business ventures required he take himself overseas, and her mother complied, taking on a job as a realtor shortly after gaining her citizenship. They lived in a small apartment to conserve money. Living in the city wasn't cheap, after all. Mischa attended public school all the way through junior high and had a rough time starting around sixth grade. She had always been on the shy side with few friends, but she began to develop paranoia and have panic attacks. At the beginning of seventh grade at her yearly physical, she described what was going on to her physician who referred her to the psychiatric department. She was observed for months before being given some medication, which she found did nothing but sedate her, but to keep her parents happy, she pretended to take them, tossing the pills out every night so she would run out as she was supposed to and not have her psychiatrist or parents suspecting anything.
Everything was smooth sailing for the first month after she had stopped taking her meds but then things started up again, but Mischa kept it to herself. She didn't want her parents to know. They had only just started treating her like they used to again, but by summer it was obvious she was taking a turn for the worst. Her psychiatrist ordered her back on medication, and her parents watched her take them every evening and made sure she didn't purge them. After a few months, they gave her some leniency, and she began not taking them again, going back to her old tricks. She wanted to be able to keep up with the few friends she had and concentrate on her work and her music, but on them she couldn't. She just didn't have a passion for anything when on them, and she hated it and the chronic boredness.
By the end of eighth grade, she was a paranoid mess. She couldn't sleep because what if something came out of the darkness to take her? She felt like she was being watched, and she felt like she had police files and the police were going to come and get her. Her parents had no choice but to have her hospitalized after talking with her psychiatrist. They began to research getting her away from the city and out somewhere where perhaps she could relax and feel safer as she was in the hospital that month. She came out better but sedated, but shortly afterwards was when her different personalities began to reveal themselves. However, a couple months later she was in Pembroke and her parents couldn't see that.
She was a nervous wreck the first few months, making herself stay away from everyone some days and other days acting out just to try to get some people to call friends. She eventually got onto the volleyball team and worked her way up in the band, but still, Pembroke isn't home. Nowhere is, and she's not sure exactly what she's doing with her life.
