Personality:
Jo is confident of herself in just about everything she does. She makes rash decisions, but will believe up to the very end that she made the right choice. Don't even think about telling her she's wrong. Whenever she's doubting herself she will come up with some kind of fucked-up logic to believe in herself again. She doesn't allow herself to be pessimistic and gets a little too carried away with making sure she doesn't get in that state of mind. She's a very "just do it" kind of person when she's in the right mood, wanting to live up to the very last second of her life, but she does have certain boundaries. If something will contradict with her future plans she won't do it so that means no letting her grades drop into a pit of snakes(which, by the way, she is terrified of). She's a very hard working student and makes sure she gets her homework done first before going off to do her life's momentary passion: partying and drinking. Jo gets very pissy when she spends a dull weekend just sitting in her dorm. She doesn't mind sneaking out of school and going down to the lake to booze it up, she has confidence in her parent's bank account to get her back in if she gets caught and expelled. She's got quite a track record with relying on that bank account to get her out of trouble with teachers and students alike. Fights, bad-mouthing, and blatant disobedience/disrespect have been the cause for her almost getting kicked out of Pembroke plenty of times.
Once you have Jo as a friend she's loyal to you until you backstab her. Not to say she hasn't done her share of backstabbing as well, but she always has some sort of "rational reason" as to why she did. Once you have Jo as an enemy it's almost impossible for her to forgive. She's not good at apologies and usually needs a good smack across the face before she finally realizes that she needs to. Jo's a very good lover. In relationships and out of them. She doesn't exactly whore around, some of those parties get way out of hand and she gains an occasionally friend with benefits, but that's it for one night stands. Once she finds a girl that intrigues her she locks on until she gets her. After all, she loves challenges, but usually once she's conquered she moves on. Every once in a while she'll fall in love and become the perfect doting girlfriend, but those relationships tend to end in bad terms because of her refusal to take the blame.
Jo is a very agressive person. It's not hard to make her mad. One insult, look, or teasing word gone wrong and you're screwed. Get on her bad side and she'll do her best to get on your last nerve until you hit her. There's quite a few catfights in her past and there's certain to be more in the future. She's a sucker for the drama of it all. In her eyes you're either with her or against her and if you're saying anything negative about her then you're against her.
One thing that Jo will never release to anyone other than her very close girl friends is that she can actually be quite girly and childish. She still acts very young sometimes. Ridiculously so. She loves sleepovers and slumber parties. Sometimes if she's bored enough she'll get a friend and have a tea party. She still plays with stuffed animals and will get her friends to play with her too. She's not so worried about her reputation getting ruined if people find out about this. Just because she likes fluffy things doesn't mean she can't beat the shit out of anyone that laughs at it.
History:
Jo was born in a small town in Canada to a wealthy family. Her mother was doing well as a philosophy college professor and her father was a very well-off businessman. There were never any financial problems in her life. She has an older brother that is two years older than her by the name of Bryan. Growing up, they were very close. They shared all their secrets with each other and made a pact to never let mom and dad in the know. Ever since she started school her parents planned for her to get into Harvard Law School and become a lawyer. Jo was all for the plan. She studied hard and kept extremely high grades. Her brother more or less was the same way, but he wasn’t afraid to live a little. Jo wasn’t either; she just did it once she was completely sure her grades were at their best.
It wasn’t until her mom started to get more noticed that everything changed. She was offered to do a series of seminars all over northern America. Bryan was about to go into high school and Jo was just starting middle school so her parents decided that was the perfect time to pack up and move to Archery, Michigan. It was about a half hour away from Detroit. Once they arrived in the United States her parents quickly discovered Pembroke. They tried to get Bryan to go, but he refused to hop on a plane and leave his sister. So he would have to wait two years until Jo and he could go to the prestigious school. Jo was still doing well in her new school, she never got anything below an A, but Bryan was growing more and more rebellious. He still had amazing grades, but he was sneaking out and taking advantage of their mother being gone all the time. Their bond was never severed in the slightest; he would always manage to convince Jo to come with him. And so Jo became a lot more experimental. By the time she could go off to Pembroke no one would dare call her a nerd. She knew how to keep that a secret and get respect. For electives she had considered taking French, but she already spoke it having lived in Canada for 13 years. So she settled on Italian and still takes it. She was separated from her brother once they enrolled at Pembroke, but the moment she discovered the secret parties she knew that’s where her brother would be. She was right. Arriving at the first party, she searched for him and what she found both scarred and intrigued her for life. Two girls having sex. Huh. She’d never really thought about it before, but now it plagued her thoughts.
Her roommates were both on the lacrosse team and convinced her to try out. She made it, but there was a downside to that. Locker rooms. Fuuuuuck. If she was a boy she would have had a boner the moment she walked in there. She knew she was at least bicurious then. She talked with one of her new friends which also happened to be one of her roommates. Two days later she was being dragged to a party with the sole purpose of fucking a guy. It happened and it was…okay. She started dating the guy, but when a week later she was practically jumped by her drunk roommate in her sleep she called it off. The fling went on for awhile after that, but eventually she was asked out by another guy. That sex was okay again. She found herself becoming less and less attracted to him, but emotionally she was in love. Or so she thought. Her thoughts often drifted back to her roommate, but they had made a silent pact to never bring it up again. The next party she went to she was searching for her boyfriend and she found him…with her roommate. He made up several excuses, trying to say she came onto him, but when she ran into her brother he blew that all to bits. Of course Bryan had already beaten the shit out of the guy, but he had to go do it again now that his sister was a blubbering mess in front of him. She wasn’t sure which hurt more. The fact that he had cheated on her, or the fact that it was with the girl she’d been falling for. A week later her roommate tried talking to her in the bathroom. Things got heated and to put it bluntly, Jo broke the girl’s nose on a toilet seat. She was almost sent home, but they decided on just several detentions instead. Jo had respect from then on. She kept up a badass exterior and still does. About a month later a guy asked her out and it was then that she came to the realization that she really didn’t like the male species. So she declared herself a lesbian and has been that way ever since.
Her plans for Harvard changed. She’s found that her passion is singing and she’s actually very good at it, but she hasn’t told her parents that. Bryan supports her wholeheartedly in anything that she does, just so long as she has a back-up plan. Which she does. She still keeps up her grades, but she’s not afraid of the occasional slip though she does avoid it. This year she’s focusing on getting a band together and hiring an agent. She wants to make it for real, rolling in money and singing her heart out. Bryan has left for Harvard now and she misses him desperately. They talk on an almost daily basis, but that’s still never enough.
Last year Jo was involved with Tristan Wade. They were roommates and started off as total enemies, but it then ended with them confessing their love for each other. It was a great relationship for Jo, but apparently not so much for Tristan. Jo walked in on her girlfriend with some slut from the cheerleading squad named Lexi. There was a huge fight and they broke up. Jo beat Lexi's ass and it only separated Tristan and her more. Jo has no plans on making up with Tristan, especially once she finds out that her and the cheerleader slut are still dating.
